This one I painted in a barrack room 1952 while doing national service.Painting in a barrack room shared with a lot of burly soldiers is no mean feat but I was surprised how helpful they were,even the sergeants ! The paint is mostly printers ink that I lifted from the stores.When the education officers heard about me painting they found out I was entitled to an allowance for materials,a meal and transport to go to a further education college in a nearby town to enroll in an art class one evening a week, also a small army lorry and driver to get me there.You can imagine how popular I became as there was space in the back for quite a lot of soldiers looking for a night out in the town . Shortly after I started the art master became sick and left and I ended up teaching the class for several months,didn't get paid for that though but I was a happy bunny helping my country fight the cold war.

Go full screen and turn the sound up b-----r the neighbours... It would be marvelous if all the old jazz bands of the 20s and 30s could be heard in stereo and the same quality as this eh?

Cooking for gentlemen..Welsh Rare~bit

Take one slice of cheap bread(it doesn't matter cos its going to be toasted)and place under grill.Don't walk away at this point,not watched toast can burn the house down. Once lightly toasted, remove bread and turn out upside down onto a suitable plate(clean) find some cheese,mature is best,cut the green bits off then cut again into chunks with sharp knife.
squeeze a liberal amount of tomato ketchup on top. see above then place back under grill till bubbling.
This can be eaten in front of your computer or TV but don't hold over keyboard.

N.B. The stuff that makes tomatoes red may help lower the risk of prostate cancer. In a new study, men who ate a diet rich in tomato sauce, ketchup or other tomato-based products containing the powerful antioxidant known as lycopene were up to one third less likely to develop the disease.

A sunny afternoon

Taken way back in the 60s with my trusty Rolleiflex
camera. My son seen wandering off as was his wont.
This was taken in Kensington gardens,the round pond
just over the slope. As you can see not a high rise
building in sight,the park then was just like being in
the countryside.My friend walking towards was at
the time an aspiring fashion model but ended up
as so many, decorating an office in the BBC.
