NARROW ESCAPE

This is a rough sketch drawn by my father(a war artist) during WW2 of the damage done by a V1 flying bomb on Winchester Court, Kensington Church street London. The drawing shows rescuers at work looking for survivors. We lived a short way behind the wrecked building.
My father was standing in a shop doorway more or less centre of the picture when the bomb exploded. He was blown to the back of the shop by the blast but un-injured,unfortunately a poor soul inside the shop was killed by the plate glass window which had preceded him.

This is rather a long film but stay with it and weep.

Christopher Wood

To my mind perfect colour and tone. This painting has influenced me all my life but never able to get near.

The black pond

The black pond in Wales. An impression of a haunt of mine in the eighties & nineties. A pond at the bottom of a hill with very little light getting through.surrounded by thick brambles,I spent hours clearing the area and dredging the pond.I expect it's all gone back to nature now and unseen.
Drawn on a Wacom tablet. here a good toy.

LADIES AFTER MY OWN HEART

UP IN THE SKY

Derry and Toms roofgarden. We used to come up here as children in WW2. We lived nearby and most of the local parks were closed off and full of anti-aircraft guns.

This might interest you Hare and Masako...
