ReplyDeleteAgree completely about the docks. I used to walk past the old Manchester Dock when I worked in Salford and even though it was as rough as a badger's bottom it had a rough-hewn boisterous energy about it.
ReplyDeleteAnd I do miss the sound of ships' hooters at the strike of New Year.
