This was a familiar sight when we lived on the Essex marshes. Sometimes people walking on the causeway or the seawalls would appear to be cut off at the knees and floating along.That caused a lot of ghost stories.from the Strood Cam here And http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=37936 for what it was like in the forties when we were there.

ReplyDeleteNo,its a download,We used to live in the house on the left.built on the edge of an old Roman causeway the Strood.marshes back and front,when the tide was high and covered the marshes it was like being at sea.
