I guess this blue face is handicraft by Mei for an event of the day before the beginning of spring. The blue face is a sort of demon or ogre. The bean-scattering ceremony celebrating the coming of spring is one of Japanese customs for happiness and health.Roasted soybeans are thrown at a member of the family who wears a demon mask, while the throwers chant "Demons out! Luck in!" the reason why she wears the musk is....not child abuse,of course! This is not a serious ceremony but an enjoyable event.
Did her mother explain what was that blue face^^?
ReplyDeleteCute :-)
ReplyDeleteNo Masako.Kumiko did not say. Please tell me more?
