  1. Hi,

Your father was Grimey wasn't he? My father was an artist, John Wynne-Morgan and was a friend of his. He met him in Ibiza and then Grimey visited us a number of times when we moved to Mallorca in 1970. I'd love to see some of your father's paintings, he was an exquisite artist. Is there a website anywhere or art gallery that has some of his work?
    Regards
    Sally

  5. I do not know of any particular source of his paintings.Perhaps searching the Internet galleries the best bet and keep looking locally for Ibiza is where he did most of his work.

  6. I and my brother had our portraits painted by Leslie Grimes in about 1961 and very fine portraits they are too.
We sat at his studio in Ibiza. I seem to remember that his studio was an old moorish palace.

  8. My great-uncle started visiting Ibiza in the mid 1950' and became friendly with "Grimey". He bought a painting "Girl with guitar" which he left to my aunt and which came to me this year. Much loved and much admired. Simon

  18. Leslie Grimes painted an oil still life for me as a gift - a rose in a jar with an earthenware pot. Late 70's.
I can supply a picture but not thinking of selling.

  19. My Aunt and cousin lived with Grimey in his 'Castle' about 40 years ago. I remember during the weeks that we visited them and him from South Africa, he showed me how to stretch his canvasses for his paintings. I only remember the Ibiza village scenes at that time. It was during that visit when he gave a painting to the Bee Gees parents - The Gibbs, as a gift for a generous school donation they had given. I often wondered what happened to him. Quite a character... grindley-ferris0043@shaw.ca

  20. My father was Bill Williams and a friend of Grimey. I was taken to his home in the Old Palace several times as a young girl. I own two paintings one of a bay and the other, a beach and greatly cherish them as a reminder of my childhood. By the way, my father built the house that the Bee Gees bought for their parents. susellis@aol.com
