  1. The great thing about cures of this generation was how they could get rid of numerous troubling symptoms all at once. If there is a modern equivalent for such cure-alls it is things like "exercise" or "vegetables" or "starvation". I suspect I would prefer the syrup of figs.

  2. I seem to remember it featured in my past too, but I can't go into details because I'm too shy.

  4. To be confronted with a spoonful of syrup of figs was the bane of my life. That, and prunes!

  5. Ah Mayb we should open a "I survived Syrup of Figs Club"?
But in my kindergarden school we were given Gregory Powder. Far worse and much quicker action.

  7. We were also given a very bright pink medicine on every possible occasion. Does anybody know what this was? Could explain a lot.
